    I KNOW, I KNOW. Shhhhhh

alright, guys. I’m all caught up, so there won’t be another movie post until I watch one :)

    Movies Watched In 2012:
    Green Lantern (via Blu-Ray)

This another “suck my dick, I like it” movie. I was stoked when Ryan Renyolds was cast as Hal Jordan, even though tons of people had their doubts. I thought he’d be fantastic, and he didn’t disappoint me. Also, Mark Strong as Sinestro? FUCK. YES. The only thing I hated about it, and I hated it so hard, was Blake Lively as Carol Ferris. So fucking useless, I think she ruined the character. Other than that, I loved this film. Peter Sargaard was fucking fantastic as Hector.

    Captain America (via DVD)

Captain America may be my favourite solo Avengers movie. Batman has always been my favourite hero, and he’s slowly having to move over on his pedestal for room for Cap. One thing I’ve always loved about Batman is that he’s avenging his parents, but Steve is avenging an entire lost generation. I also love that he never gave up, he never backed down from a fight, and he didn’t wait until he was buff to try and and make a difference. Also: STANLEY TUCCI

    Movies Watched In 2012:
    Thor (via Blu-Ray)

Santa brought me Thor for on Blu-Ray Christmas and I’ve watched it multiple times already. I love this so hard. It’s funny, because until last year, I thought I hated Marvel, and I really don’t. I don’t love Spiderman, and I think I let that overshadow the rest of the comics. So yes, I jumped on the bandwagon when the Avengers movies started coming out, but whatever. Don’t like it, suck my dick. Also, I love Loki more than is probably healthy. If you don’t know the story, like I didn’t, you go in thinking that you’ll sympathize with Thor, but the whole time, I was like, “OH LOKI YOU LITTLE WOOBIE!”

    Movies Watched In 2012:
    The Princess Bride (via Blu-Ray)

I had never seen this movie before meeting AJ, and now it’s one of my favourites. Pretty much every time Westley says “As you wish”, I swoon like a Victorian lady. I absolutely adore Mandy Patinkin in anything, but I really love him in this. I also love Westley’s dedication to get back to his Buttercup. ♥

    Movies Watched In 2012:
    Kick-Ass (via DVD)

This is one of my favourite movies. And ps, I chose this version of the poster for Mark Strong, clearly. The first time I saw this, was with my boo on a trip to Florida. We didn’t think we’d like it all that much, and ended up going to see it twice before my trip was over. I love the comics as well, and I really wish that Kick-Ass 2 would happen.

    Movies Watched In 2012:
    Sin City (via DVD)

I don’t care what anyone says, I love this fucking movie. I love how it looks, I love the cast, I love how it changes leading men every thirty minutes, I love it. I love Elijah Wood and how creepy he is, I love Yellow Bastard, I love Marv and his devotion and how he keeps calling Wendy “Goldie”, I love the way the blood looks, I love the style of gore, I love the whole movie.  Sidenote: I think that Brittany Murphy would have played an amazing Harley Quinn.

    Movies Watched In 2012:
    The Lion King (via Blu-Ray)

I have loved The Lion King, since it’s theatrical release way back in 1994. I auditioned for a talent show with two other girls with “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King”. I was Zazu. Sadly, we didn’t make it, but it was definitely fun to put together. My original DVD copy was unfortunately left in a hotel room in Virginia a few years ago, so Santa generously replaced it with a Blu-Ray copy this Christmas.

    Movies Watched in 2012:
    Gosford Park (via Netflix)

I don’t know how I hadn’t seen this before, I knew I’d like it, I don’t know why I had never watched it. Let me start by saying that I love Robert Altman movies. I love the way he casts, I love the way he directs and I love the no script format he uses. During group scenes, it felt like you were at an actual party, not a scripted party scene. The cast is incredible in this film, they all worked so well together for being such a large ensemble.

    Movies Watched In 2012:
    Thumbelina (via Netflix)

    I. LOVE. THIS. MOVIE. I love ALL Don Bluth movies. I wish more were on Netflix, especially Troll In Central Park or Rockadoodle, but I was so jazzed to see this on there. I think that this movie is adorable, and watching it was like revisiting my childhood.

    Movies Watched In 2012:
    Beauty and the Beast 3D

Let me just start by saying, that I had so much fun going to see this. I went with my best friend who is just as Disney obsessed, and we each had big bags of candy and big bags of popcorn, and we just had such fun. It was actually the first movie both of us had seen in the theatre as children, so it was especially cool to see it on the big screen again. At the end, during the credits, she and I had an epic sing-a-long with Celine Dion. I don’t love 3D, but it really was beautiful, especially Be Our Guest.

    Movies Watched In 2012:
A Haunting In Salem (via Netflix)

My dad and I put this on when we discovered that SNL was a repeat. We both have a thing for horror movies, but we also love SHITTY horror movies. This was one of the worst, which for us, makes it one of the best. This movie is beautfully awful, and if you enjoy B-movies, please check this out. Fun fact: this movie was directed by a grandson of Dick Van Dyke (he also directed the disaster… no pun intended… Titanic 2), and another grandson is one of the cops.
